THE DIRTY

BIRDER

THE MISSION.

I’m Joe Glass — one of the only people in Pennsylvania producing end-to-end Wildlife Conservation Documentaries for non-profits, conservation initiatives, and wildlife education centers, single-handedly. My mission is to showcase conservation work, highlight endangered and threatened species, and tell the stories that help to promote and protect habitat and native wildlife.

WHY I DO THIS?

In 2025 our wild places and the species that depend on them are under relentless pressure. Funding for federal programs that protect habitats and imperiled species is shrinking, and many conservation organizations simply can’t afford to tell their own stories. I combined my documentary filmmaking experience with my obsession for bird photography to fill that gap — to make visible the people, places, and projects working to save wildlife.

So far this year, I’ve produced or am producing documentaries for Shaver’s Creek Environmental Center, Erie Bird Observatory, Second Chance Flight, and The Ned Smith Center.

Many programs can’t pay for films, my work is self-funded. That means every dollar I receive goes straight into producing more documentaries that amplify conservation efforts and drive real-world support. These films bring attention to underfunded programs, inspire donors and volunteers, and give endangered species a louder voice.

HOW YOU CAN HELP RIGHT NOW?

  • Donate: Your contribution funds camera time, travel to field sites, editing, and distribution so these stories reach the people who can act.

  • Share: Spread the word—share my videos and posts with friends, local groups, and schools to increase viewership and impact.

  • Partner: If you’re part of a non-profit, environmental center, or conservation project and need a documentary, reach out — I prioritize projects that will benefit habitat and species protection.

Make a direct impact today. Any donation helps me create the next documentary that could protect acres of habitat or save a species from slipping further toward extinction. Your support turns footage into action.
